Here are some highlights of my time home. Today was one of the more interesting days I've had here so far.

-I was outside a lot today and I now remember one of the reasons I love Colorado so much. You walk outside, and there's sky all around you. I can't get over how open it is. It's both beautiful and kind of bleak. The sunsets are absolutely beautiful over the mountains as well. I am planning on going up on my roof to watch one sometime soon. It's not as impressive as the towers at MHC, but whatever. ;P There was also a random storm that rolled in over the mountains, and it highlighted the drastic changes in the way the sky looks out here. Because of school, I'm used to two types of sky--cloudy or clear.
I really do miss the view of the stars at MHC, though. It's a lot darker there; it's really hard to see them here near Denver. >.<

(random side note for videogamers: I am fully aware I sound like Claude from Star Ocean II right now. Hehe.)

-I had a thrilling conversation with my dad in the car involving potential methods of finding a career and organizing my life. I'm still kind of reeling from it. Everything he said sounded like great advice up until he suggested that I work for Monsanto. Apparently, he forgot the research project I did on the negative effects Roundup has on sea urchin gametes. Ah well. You win some, you lose some. :P

-I am making progress on getting volunteer work this summer. I have located applications and filled them out. Now I just need to double check references and turn them in. I am also supposed to contact the endocrinologist that I used to go to before college. I'm nervous, but hoping she'll be helpful. Pointing me toward a prestigious internship with the Human Genetics staff at the Denver Center for Health and Science for next summer would be nice. *sigh*

-I am getting together with George tonight! :D This probably means loads of DDR and videogames. Excellent good. He also informed me that I am going to be a replacement author for his crazy LJ adventures involving us. Here's an excerpt:

Hilary: Pardon my paradox, but it appears that I will be both author and character in this adventure. Let's see how I do (and I hope it's well)
Hilary: Hey...wait. I recognize the phrase "pardon my paradox"! It's from Red Dwarf! I AM NOT KRYTEN! What are you doing, author?
Author Hilary: Quiet down, or I will show the audience that not only do you recognize the quote, but that you know which episode and season it's from as well. You can also probably quote the episode from there, can't you? Don't make me humiliate you.
Hilary: Heh...heh.. ^_^; *backs away slowly*
