So, I went to my mom's office today, in hopes that I would actually be productive. As you can see, it's 11 am, and I am already on LiveJournal. *sigh* Oh well.
My goal today was to see if St. Joe's hospital had any volunteer opportunities that had anything REMOTELY to do with genetics. They didn't. -_- Of course, when my dear mother found out about this, she innundated me with phone books and gave me a bunch of non-descript suggestions about getting in contact with genetics clinics. I hate not knowing exactly what I'm doing. :P I ended up searching for information online, and I found three really good places in the Colorado area, and possibly some in Seattle (Yes, Kelsey, I want you to notice that comment! ^_^). The question remains: How the hell am I going to be able to get an internship at any of these places? I guess actually getting in contact with them, and trying to get some lab experience back at MHC next year, would be a good start.
Oh, yeah...and I think I have to add St. Joe's to the list of places where I'm volunteering this summer.
In other news, I think I may want to spend time this summer either a) getting certified as an EMT, b) maybe getting an associate's degree as a pharmaceutical assistant or c) getting certified as a yoga instructor. Any suggestions, thoughts, or rude remarks about this?
-*note of historical revision*-
My mood is much improved now, because I found an 'eclectic Peruvian lounge' that will be opening soon in Denver, and they are hiring. Maybe there will be a place for me there. ^_^
