Steamboat Springs and Laloba Ranch
Jun. 25th, 2006 04:29 pmWherein our hero visits a ranch and is hindered by bovine adversaries!
(I think I ought to quit with the 'wherein' stuff now, because it's not going to get any better than that)
Bailey, my Irish Wolfhound, came to us from a ranch up in Steamboat Springs, CO. My mom and I went back there yesterday to see the other wolfhounds and puppies! The breeder also wanted to see Bailey now that she's all grown up.
My mom had a fun trip up there; I introduced her to DDR music, and it allowed her to rant about various work stuff. It took about 3 hours to get there. It might have been a little less if the roads around Steamboat up into the hills were not poorly taken care of and not composed of dirt and small rocks. :P
Anyway, the ranch was beautiful and Bailey was frightened of her parents and sister because they were in a huge pack of wolfhounds, and they barked at her. :P She got along much better with the recent puppies. Aww. ^_^
The breeder tried to convince my mother to take a puppy home (she has three male puppies who have not found homes yet), but my mom decided that she's still holding out for a bullmastiff. The trip home proceeded similarly to the trip there, except that we encountered a resting cow in the middle of the road near the ranch, and that we stopped at a fantastic Italian restaurant for dinner. :)
Pictures will follow...
