Aug. 1st, 2006 03:01 amI have come to the conclusion that British Parliament is incredibly awesome because they spend a lot of time in loud and passionate argument with one another. There is also something immense and mighty about the ENTIRE HOUSE OF COMMONS (I think?) greeting Prime Minister Tony Blair with "Yo, Blair!" because they were irritated that Bush addressed him that way. <3 <3 Britain.
Something else I saw today...absolutely shriveled my soul. They are making a Left Behind videogame. *shudders* As if that weren't bad enough, it looks like Halo. WTF? WTF!?
Otherwise, I spent the majority of the day waiting around in the courthouse because I was summoned for jury duty. Not only did I have to miss work at Radiation Oncology (which could lead to a potential internship!), but it was all for no reason whatsoever. I waited for four hours to see if they had a case for me to potentially work on, and they all got settled without a trial. Oh well, at least I got some quality reading in. I read Scientific American Mind (highly recommended magazine about neuroscience and behavior) and a bestiary I randomly picked up at the Tattered Cover. Whee fictional beasts. :D
Also: I got a Shakespeare Tarot deck as a gift. Anyone who is curious about which character represents which card, leave me a comment, and I'll tell you. :P

Date: 2006-08-01 04:16 pm (UTC)In my Shakespeare deck, the Three of Cups is represented by a quote. The quote is "Ask me what you will, I will grant it." from As You Like It. The book says that it represents good fortune, celebration, and forgiveness.
