So, at the moment I'm still almost ecstatic about shadowing at Radiation Oncology. It went really well! I got to spend most of my time with a medical physicist, helping him take measurements and come up with radiation treatment plans for various patients. It was fascinating seeing all the different processes that go into it. It's quite complicated, and it was comforting to know that when you're being treated with radiation, they do their absolute best to make sure you get the right dose, and that it does not hit any healthy structures in your body. My favorite part was probably seeing the physicist take the images he got from scans I observed and turn them all into a 3-d computer model that he could use to assign doses and timing for her radiation treatments. Seeing that scans and check-up procedures themselves was also pretty neat also. Basically, I think I've found a fabulous back-up plan in case I can't find a good genetics internship or go abroad to intern. :) I think it also helps that everyone there was really nice and seemed to like me.

I'm also really happy because Laura is finally here for her visit! She got in yesterday, and we had lots of fun. I got to see pics from the anime convention (good costumes, everyone! And Gina wins at being Frog. :P). Laura also talked to my little neighbors about horseback riding. I used to nanny for them, so I know them really well, and they asked if they could meet her because they're both really into riding. After that, she got to meet George (she's worried that other MHC people are going to be jealous ^_~) and his friend Diana. We had some coffee, and Diana and I showed her our Tarot decks, because she wanted to see the Shakespeare one I got recently. We're leaving for the mountains tomorrow, and today will probably be spent showing her all the places I like to go around here. w00t. George might also teach her to swing dance tonight, which she seems to be looking forward to a lot.
Her being here has caused me to realize just how much I miss all you MHC people. I can't wait to see you all again! And CO people...well...I'm also painfully aware that I'm leaving soon...and I'll miss you all too!

*hugs to everyone*

Additional: Starfox Adventures is definitely wort $7, as it is an unbelievably cute Zeldaish RPG with dinosaurs. I want to teach my little cousins to play it. :P
